Akdong Musician(AKMU) - 얼음들(MELTED)

This video reaches the deepest parts of your heart. It shows you things, which are prevalent in society from the point of view of a stranger in a foreign country. I highly recommend it.
Melted by Akdong Musician (AKMU), you can check out more of their music here.

Fandoms That Shook The World

Every once in a while, there comes a book series that stirs up a reader's soul. Some such are obviously, Harry Potter, A Song of Ice and Fire, Twilight, The Hunger Games, Divergent and a million other Dystopian novels.
It is common knowledge that fandoms are similar to Kingdoms willing to resort to war, if necessary. One wrong word, one wrong comparison and one wrong look can lead to shattered hearts and brains alike. The Harry Potter VS Twilight debate is now burnt out, but the flame still lingers, the anger remains. The basis, nobody knows, what could you possible compare in the two? Nobody has the answer to that question, it's immortal vampire romance pitted with magic, witchcraft and wizardry. I just don't see it.

The crazy world that we live in, dominated by the Internet, selfies, vine, reddit and tumblr has had a huge hand in creating this phenomenon called Fandom Wars. It is fun if you are a fangirl or fanboy, even though from an outsider's POV, you're just demented. But they don't understand the passion and dedication with which we lose our senses over the characters and their stories. The way Harry Potter rules our lives, I wouldn't dare to imagine a life without it, it would be unspeakable. Game of Thrones and the 1000+ pages of each book, hold a mystery so special that it brings tears to my eyes. George R.R. Martin's creative talents knows no bounds and I thank my stars that I am a reader. Although, waiting for the sixth installation has killed a part of my soul already, but who am I to complain.

Dystopian was okay for sometime and then it was just too much. Dystopian writers need to get a grip on who all they are killing off, it is not even funny any longer. Ultimately it all boils down to romance. Kill the parents, kill the siblings, kill the friends but the main lead should never die. Romance never dies. Love is perennial.

Oh, well..let's not start

Magazine Intern: Life and Times

Every person, at least once in their lives dreams of becoming an intern with a Fashion Magazine. I think it is safe to say that I was one of them. I use was because my dream came true, not because of some eyeopening  broke-my-trust-in-the-industry episode.

Well, it was a two-month long internship at the offices of a fairly new but recognized fashion magazine and I chose to intern with the Beauty and Features Section, for no other reason apart from the one where I love beauty products. Even though I was not a part of the Fashion department, I did get to interact with them a lot and it was a whole lot of fun. Their work is pretty tedious, (they should get 50 points for that straight on!) with all the styling and late-night shoots, sourcing and returning (scout the designer haunts for clothes & accessories and give'em back in perfect shape). Once, I was sent to the dry cleaners regarding a shirt, that sure made me appreciate my work. You can't say no when you're an intern, unless you don't give a rat's ass. But in that case why intern anyway?

That aside, I was really glad with my department, excessively satisfied if I may. My superior was an amazing woman who knew what she was doing and made my time there sail past. Considering it's the beauty department, us interns got to enjoy free goodies in the form of nail polishes, lip glosses and other magical treats. All in all I made really good friends, I got to write, and I got to interview celebrities! What's more I saw my name in print for the first time and let me tell you, no other feeling can compete with that. I would urge all you budding writers or publishers to go and intern with a fashion magazine or any other magazine to find your niche.
Why am I writing about this? Oh yeah, I'm on a journey to uncover my calling!
